NEPAL
EARTHQUAKE APPEAL
On 25th April 2015 an earthquake struck Nepal killing thousands of people and making half a million homeless. SHIVA Charity's founder (Bob Uppington) was in Nepal at the time, and has been working hard there ever since, to help the homeless, and to focus on the education of poor children and schools. The wooden blocks below
were given to me by a friend, Satya Pal Jain of
Gajmoti in Toronto years ago. He knew about our
Medieval Recreation activities. He was a brass
dealer from India and has since passed away...
We purchased a lot of brass items that fit with
our Medieval decor and food serving. His father
in India used to send along many old items he
picked up. Among those were a few of these
old Nepalese wooden printing blocks. They have
been repaired ( a more recent back holding block
nailed on in India. You can see the different
wood color) but other than that are in great
condition. I do not know the exact age on these
but I have had them over 40 years now. He
also gave us several newer ones made in India.
He thought we might be able to use them for
imprinting canvas on our tents Since I am retired now we no longer have a use for these. I have created this page to sell them and as a historical record (as we do with many of our pages). These pages are not linked to a shopping cart yet so you will need to contact me via email. 35% of any sales on these will go SHIVA Charity. It's not much but we are sharing the awareness through our Guild pages as well as Pegasus Research Consortium UPDATE: India Printing Blocks Listed on ETSY Nepalese Printing Blocks Listed on ETSY |
