Ferri-fluoro-katophorite

This is classified as a new species and specimens are very rare. We found several nice pieces years ago before it was identified. Former name was Fluoro Magnesio Kataphorite, the official name is now Ferri-fluoro-katophorite. Details are available here at Mindat. org

The iron-fluoro-katophorite is a mineral, an amphibole belonging, according to the nomenclature of amphiboles of 2012 (IMA 2012), the subgroup of sodium-calcium amphiboles

Samples with chemical composition and crystal structure corresponding to this mineral have been collected in the excavations of Bear Lake, the area Bancroft in the province of ' Ontario in Canada and referred to as "magnesium-fluor-katophorite" according to the nomenclature of amphiboles of 1997 (IMA 1997 )
