29 Another's Name
At market for the day, I heard a voice.
That simple tune did orchestrate fully
In mind the chorus of my memory.
It was my name I heard, and by my choice,
Your lips had sent this calling to my ear.
In closing once my eyes, we both were met
(All the time that 'tween us lays, do forget)
And your lips did match themselves in eager
Forming of my name, and your love of me...
And then time moved. And in the moment next,
My now well-hated reason did dissect
The lie my heart had whispered so softly.
My heart then felt what my cold reason knew...
My name, not me, was called and not by you.
