no. 56 Nicholas, Revised
~4/93
When seeds are sown and first the burst of life
Does break the womb of Earth, what thing can stop
This joy of G_d's intent from shining bright?
And as that bursting joy does grow, all parts
Of our lives do strong mingle with slim roots.
But when amidst the spring of life and joy
The seed dies and is no more, there's no boot
In turning in rejection from the soil.
While drawing roots away, the earth begins
To settle and prepare for life's new hale.
The seed, naught else, had not the strength within.
This is the reason why the growing failed.
Within G_d's garden, though, there grows up, tall
One flower more, remembered here by all.
Nicholas (Original Version)
When seeds are sown and the first burst of life Breaks
from the womb of the earth, what can stop This joy of
God's intent from shining bright? And as that bursting
joy grows in each part Of our lives, how slim yet strong
are its roots. But when amidst the spring of life and joy
The seed dies and is no more, there's no boot In turning
in rejection from the soil. There is a reason why the
growing fails And the roots are drawn away, the earthen
Bed left to settle where no new growth hails... The seed,
naught else, had not the strength within. But within
God's garden, there grows up tall One flower more,
remembered here by all.
