Anomalies Found on Lunar Orbiter Photos
The Images in this section are scanned from books that
were published in the early days of the Apollo Missions. Some of the same
images are available online, however they show obvious differences. We
will provide Book details so if you wish you can find a copy yourself and
compare the images to those found on the websites. Both sources are the
same... NASA.
This image is scanned from “Exploring Space With A
Camera” NASA SP-168 (1968)
Image # LO-1-102

Comments:
There are many interesting anomalies in this photo,
but we are going to focus on a few of the easiest to see ones. They are
detailed below. |
"Mining Operation"
.
Comments:
Lots of disturbed dirt here
and many "roadways" |
"Roadway"
.
Comments:
The image above shows a long
relatively straight roadway to another mining operation. On the right side
below the crater there is what appears to be a circle of lights. |
"Industrial Complex"
.
Comments:
The image above shows several
"roadways" with lights. In the upper right corner you can se a fairly large
structure on the ridge that stands out like a beacon
On the left is a dirt road through trees, and two clusters
of lights. On the right is two crossing roads with street lamps. Both these
clips are from Cape Kennedy Spaceport taken by satellite and reduced to
approximate the scale, used here for comparison

UPDATE:

THREAD "Study of lunar orbiter1-102 image (moon anomaly)"
Original Image used for this
Pegasus version was taken from Lunar
Orbiter Photo Gallery Frame 1102
LO-I-102-h1
We first presented this in the John Lear Moon Thread as "Industrial Complex"
(see above). This new release of LO-I-102 is much better resolution than
the book scan and gives us a much better view of this 'structure'
..
Original Image cropped...
..
Color Highlighted 'Structure'...
..
The entire structure is within one scanner strip
from the video scan of the original negative left on board the Orbiter
..

..
Despite the poor resolution, the
anomaly still appears as a rectangle. This is one think we look for when
hunting. In the lower res version they satnd out clearly. Then if it holds
up in the higher res versions you have something... as in this case
http://www.lpi.usra.edu/resources/apollo/images/print/AS15/M/0325.jpg
..
http://www.lpi.usra.edu/resources/apollo/catalog/pan/revolution/?AS15R15Cf
..
In the above two Apollo versions,
though you cannot see any deatails, both images show a pronounced rectangular
area. Assuming the locations are correct this makes it avery interesting
find.

..
In the above two even poorer versions
you can still see the little rectangular area... so it seems that in all
the photos above there is clear evidence of something rectangular in that
region |
"Those Mysterious Spheres"
.
|
|
"Spheres"
This group is arranged in a semi- circle
|
|
"Spheres"
Lots of groups of spheres in this area arranged in neat rectangular
rows just like street lights |
