The above image was taken by a  10" scope under difficult conditions near London. December 17th, 2005 was a good day for British Astronomers as several captured the Blue Gem of Aristarchus that day, but Mike has outdone himself in the quality of assembling the 170 images that make up this full moon. Unlike typical NASA overlays showing the overlay lines and color variances from frame to frame, you can barely see any in this image.

I think you will be amazed when you see the clarity and detail in the full image. And as in the Clementine color images you will see later, pay attention to all the little glowing spheres all over the image. You can use this Earth bound independent image to confirm what you see in the Clementine images
