I Don't Know Why I Sleep

When little are the hours and friend sleep
Is on me lightly, I am fortunate
To rouse my tousled mind and open weak
Eyes, and even with all my imperfect
   Faculties, behold an earthly heaven.
Glod perfection shines with treasured richness
Haloing a visage I kiss... again,
And hold... before my all too human dreams
Come and fail to match. I don't know why I
Sleep when dreams already lie beside me,
But I do, and see the better dream, my
Love, when I see you. The dark does make the
Day welcome, as does hunger flavor food,
But Sleep or no, sight or no, thou art good.
