The Tapestry Of The Rose

That slender darkness that does draw my gaze
Suggests much more than rounded pleasures there;
It implies welcomed holdings. That rare place,
Most luscious, comforts and allures me fair.
   And that Deep - most wondrous, warm and welcome -
   That place hid well and so protected. Knot
   Well the guide, the path is clear when opened...
   And travels there are journeys ne'er forgot.
That place of reflection and of repose.
That place of temptation's receptacle.
That Hold that holds the secrets of your rose
Does keep my tall desire and my soul.
   Those places and those keeps and most dear rose
   Form the garden from which my life-blood flows.
