Coals and Blushes

Stains and oils, coals and blushes; thou dost use These to give your art its beauty. But hues And dyes have gods so wrought quite well in you That your work is surpassed by you, whose Hand did make it. From the frame, searching for Its audience, your work does good and more, It inspires. But, as your work is sure To move, so the hand that moves to work your Will does move me. My heart, the canvas to Your sweet designs, remembers all that you Have done and are in its gallery. Do All who see your work know good beauty through It? Yes. And I Know it and you - that's best. For I share love with whom the Muse hath blessed.
