The Three Things Cats Say

The first and foremost `meuwed' is "where's my food"
Companioned with reproachful looks that say,
(In cat), "maow" which means "You've not been good"
"This last half hour I've starved! I'll waste away!"

The second speech is said without ending
`Enlightenment' its purpose is to be
"What's yours is mine, what's mine's mine, `comprende'?
How clear it all becomes once you just see!

Now, last, we must learn well the way of pride.
Well demonstrated when a cat's not quite
As graceful as they'd like. The cat's reply?
"What you saw happen, didn't!" Aren't I right?

Forget the broken vase, the tumbled mats.
