In the year of our Lord 1474, A baby boy was born to a poor Montaback and his wife. The labour was hard and the mother died, leaving Arthor de Powella to be raised by his father. Now a Montaback is one who sells cure-alls, magic elixirs and such, and Arthor was raised as his fool. As a young lad Arthor was quick and agile, so soon earned the name of Nimble. 

Using tumbling, juggling and funny stories to gather a crowd for his father's pitches. Sometimes he would act as if he were lame, receive the cure and leave the stage doing flips. They traveled all of England and France, but Jerome was caught in France, even after a warning from Arthor. After his father had been executed by drowning, 16 year old Arthor signed on to a ship to get out of France as Whistler and lookout. His nature worked for him here as he was able to keep up the crews moral. As he grew older he advanced in rank and was soon 1st mate on a Mercenary ship bringing troops and supplies where they were needed. Then on the island of Sicily, he met and married a well to do daughter of a Baron. The Baron died mysteriously one night, leaving his daughter and new son-in-law heir to his estates. Soon Arthor owned a few ships of his own, which he used to help out the highest bidder and his old Mercenary friends, shipping food and weapons. 

But on one trip to England with his wife and daughter on board, they ran into a storm and Arthor ran out of luck. All hands perished except Arthor, who as fortune would have it, washed up on the shore of a small island just off the coast of Wales, not remembering who he was except his life with his father as Nimble the Fool. So once again speaking as if he was from Scotland or Ireland, (Englishmen find it funny), he went off to entertain, and every once in a while when he is needed, Arthor surfaces to the top.

Thus came Nimble the Fool to the Isle of Standauffish.
