Wooden Beam Discovered on Mars? . This anomaly was first brought to our attention by Echtelion, a member of ATS, where there is a discussion thread on this image. This cylindrical-projection view combines several frames from the navigation camera on NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity. The rover acquired these frames during its 115th martian day, or "sol," in the Meridiani Planum region of Mars, on May 21, 2004. The rover was near the edge of "Endurance Crater," which dominates the right half of this view. The crater is about 130 meters (about 430 feet) in diameter. Opportunity Sol 115 Navigation Camera ,, Naturally it is possible that NASA is correct in calling this one a "rock", but then NASA calls all anomalies rocks. In either case this object is in a field of sedimentary rock that shows the "Blue Berries" and it looks out of place whether it is a beam of wood or a rock. It is certainly interesting to look at... The 'wooden beam' taken from the above panorama was taken on Sol 115 by Opportunity's Navication Camera. The beam appears in four images in the set... We have added them below |

UPDATE: Square Depressions Posted by 2Faced on 17-7-2008 @ 07:06 AM, A member of ATS Post ID 4643785 I was about to take a look at the log, until I noticed something else that I thought was a bit strange. When you look a bit above the "log" you see two, what apear to be, allmost perfect squares laying side by side. Or am I "seeing" things? Here are the images I am talking about: .. .. |
