Restoration
Floating gently `pon a quiet river
A leaf does rest among the ribboned stream,
And I, while resting there, do remember
To think of thee, and seek to float on dreams.
Dear and gentle lady, kind and loving,
With thy hair of autumn, and skin of rose,
Music is in thy every wording,
Your eyes are of fire and light and snow.
The leaf softly dances with the currents,
Well-forming to each and every wave,
The leaf so duets with nature's circlet,
As might my eyes then dance your form, your face.
The River's burden, light and shadow, all
Returns you to my mind where love's recalled.
