Home
I attend the playing of good minstrels
With contented smiles if they do do well,
But when I then hear my love's own laughter,
My ear quickly turns to follow after.
Food, well made, hot and varied on its trays,
With sweets and wines, sugar and all arrays
Of subtleties to please the senses "Sight"
And "Taste" do tempt slow men quick and quite right
From their thorough times to the tavern fire,...
But not so quick as I go home. Desire
Does fly me to see my loves before one
More moment passes, and to feast at home.
All manner of God's work do I enjoy,
But none so much as home and my two boys.
