To my darling Ronda

Dark Creature

I sit upon the bulwarks of my castle, gazing upon the coming storm.
For in the west the violent clouds do churn and boil.
The deep peel of thunder rolls in upon the cold winds, the air electric.
Soon the rains will fall and renew the sun parched soil

Far off in the distance I spy, fleeing before the violent onslaught,
A pair of Dark Wings, trying frantically the winds to flee.
It looms ever larger, this strange creature, my attention now captured.
As I sit I watch and wonder, ever closer it draws to me.

I shiver slightly, the cold winds dancing o'er my naked flesh.
I love the storms that pass my way, sitting upon my walls.
But as this strange beast approaches nigh, I bear a tinge of fear.
What manner of beast be this that deep within me calls.

I tremble now yet its not from cold nor fear, for I sense no harm.
Deep within my bosom, A warmth begins to stir.
In fascination now I watch as ever nearer the creature draws.
My heart is pounding, my vision begins to blur.

No this cannot be, I must be in a trance, a waking dream.
The creature gracefully lights upon the tower.
Ne'er have I seen such a strange and enchanting beauty.
Her eyes met mine, I swoon already lost within her power.

She lands beside me now, mesmerizing me by her presence.
Looking deep within my eyes, her sweet scent fills the air.
With increasing anticipation as she nears, my body quivers.
Her Talon reaches out to gently caress my hair.

Many days I have sat upon my walls, naked to the elements.
I dare not flinch, my pounding heart is on fire.
All my dreams and yearnings here alone, ne'er prepared me for,
This strange encounter. My bosom heaves with desire.

A tale she relates to me, of having passed this way before.
Naked upon my castle, she hath seen me spend my time.
Alone herself I sensed her longing as she perched beside me now.
I placed my hand upon her Talon, her hopes then did climb.

I looked upon her then with longing, the lonely years gone by.
And then upon that castle roof beneath the raging storm,
We looked into each others soul, and peace upon us came.
Our lips met ever so softly, our love then took form.

The storm raged on above our heads, but we felt it not.
In her sweet embrace, neither cold nor wet was I that day.
And all those years of loneliness within my Castle are now gone.
Now and forever , with me my beautiful Dark Creature  will stay.
